bagong taon na!!!!

i've got no regrets for 2006. happily anticipating what this year will bring...

yun lang po. back to work.

i want to thank God for so many things in 2006... but since i am incapabale of sitting down long enough to think about them in an orderly fashion, i'll list my blessings in bits and pieces.

first spurt:

1. WOW Philippines tour: I was able to go to Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao for free in 2006. First time to go to Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro and Davao; second time for Lucena and Cebu. KC mate reunions a given. =)

2. Three interesting jobs in 3 companies in different fields: public relations, HR, education, writing, sales, etc. lotsa learnings, lotsa new friends...di na talaga ako fresh grad, ehehe.

3. i was able to study again, however briefly, and have several sidelines and amusements that i've never tried before. thanks Lord for the courage to make the most of these opportunities.

this is the second day in a row that i've been nodding off at work. embarassing, because an officemate had to poke at me to wake me up during shift. i even managed to snooze sitting up. coffee doesn't seem to help.

this must be fatigue, with all the different pies i've got my fingers into. i am burning my candle at both ends. 5 hours of sleep is not enough for me; multiplying that by 3 is way better. and i've got the sniffles. hay.

but still, i strive to "make the most of every opportunity." no regrets.

If we could reduce the world’s population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all existing human ratios remaining the same, the demographics would look something like this:

The village would have 60 Asians, 14 Africans, 12 Europeans, 8 Latin Americans, 5 from the USA and Canada, and 1 from the South Pacific

51 would be male, 49 would be female

82 would be non-white; 18 white

67 would be non-Christian; 33 would be Christian

80 would live in substandard housing

67 would be unable to read

50 would be malnourished and 1 dying of starvation

33 would be without access to a safe water supply

39 would lack access to improved sanitation

24 would not have any electricity (And of the 76 that do
have electricity, most would only use it for light at night.)

7 people would have access to the Internet

1 would have a college education

1 would have HIV

2 would be near birth; 1 near death

5 would control 32% of the entire world’s wealth; all 5 would be US citizens

33 would be receiving --and attempting to live on-- only 3% of the income of “the village”

My exile from the cinema house is over! Several flicks to watch for this year:

1. "His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass"
Mark Your Calendar: Dec. 7
Stars: Nicole Kidman, Dakota Richards, Eva Green, Daniel Craig
The Story: A 12-year-old girl starts out trying to save a friend whose been kidnapped by a mysterious organization in an alternate world but ends up on an epic quest to save our own world as well.

* I've read the first two books of this trilogy and they're great..i love children's literature =) and.. Daniel Craig?! *SWOON* mwahaha!

2. "Shrek the Third"
Mark Your Calendar: May 18
Stars: Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas, Justin Timberlake
The Story: When King Harold suddenly croaks, Shrek and Fiona discover that ruling over a kingdom isn't all it's cracked up to be. If Shrek can find another suitable heir to the throne, he and Fiona can return home to happiness in the swamp.

3."Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End"
Mark Your Calendar: May 25
Stars: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Geoffrey Rush, Chow Yun-Fat
The Story: When we last saw our fabled crew at the end of "Dead Man's Chest," Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) had been swallowed by the nefarious Kracken, Barbossa (Rush) had surprisingly been resurrected from the dead and Davy Jones' heart was soon to be in the hands of the East India Trading Company. It's no secret Sparrow will survive, but how does a trip to the "literal" end of the world (according to director Gore Verbinski) fit into the mix?

4. "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"
Mark Your Calendar: July 13
Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and almost every British actor alive, although Helena Bonham Carter and Imelda Staunton are new to the fold.
The Story: Another year and more angst for our beloved Harry as the wizard world deals with the return of Voldemort.

5. "Spider-Man 3"

Stars: Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Topher Grace, Thomas Haden Church, Bryce Dallas Howard
The Story: Our friendly neighborhood web-slinger battles one of his greatest villains, The Sandman (Church); is tempted by a new flame, Gwen Stacy (Howard); and discovers a new black suit that turns into something much worse — fan-favorite Venom.

malapit na akong buminggo sa aking kawalan ng kakayahan na makinig...di ko lam kung sadyang bingi ako o talagang di ko pa maarok ang punto ng mga kano.

medyo nabuburat na rin ako sa mga puna, parang wala pa akong nagagawang tama ngayon...ewan kung mali lang ang pagtanggap ko, tama naman yung sinsabi nila. ayaw ko lang siguro ng minamandohan sa trabaho.

natutunan ko na rin na lahat ng tao may payo, at madalas sa hindi iba iba sila ng sinsabi. minsan, taliwas pa sa isa't isa. kahilo.

gusto ko ng matuto at makagawa ng sarili kong pakana na mainam at di nakakasayang ng oras at pagod.

tama ba na hilingin ko na ilagay ako sa ibang lugar? at sumama sa ibang grupo?

sana makatulog na ako agad para di lang 5 oras pahinga ko. buti na lang maysakit yung alaga ko kahapon, pero di ko rin nagamit yung sobrang 2 oras... imbes na magpahinga...hay.

gustong gusto ko nang bumalik dun..parang tigang na ako sa ganung aspeto....panu kaya?

buti na lang pwedeng isilent ang cellphone, kundi noon ko pa tinapon, istorbo na kasi minsan e.

sana pwedeng matulog ng isang buwan. sana wala nang gumugulo at umaagaw sa kakaramput ko na panahon. kelangan ko ng oras para sa sarili ko. masama bang naisin yun?

yup i'm feeling better now..just got one of my mood swings yesterday. our bs here in the office helped a lot...i was reminded that i have to DECIDE what to put on everyday:

my old, cranky, nasty, corrupted self...or the great, nice, redeemed child of GOD.

and i have to rely on Him to give the ability to do the latter.

last 15mins, uwian na!!!

* so much for new year's resolutions about food and time and money and love and life and a lot more. i'll just make valentine's resolutions. pasaway

* i have 2 days to make a sale. well. not the end of the world if i don't, but it would sure be a nice end to a crazy month

* i so want to hibernate. but i don't like the headache and lethargy that comes from sleeping for 18 hours straight

* eating is such sweet sorrow. - my waistline

* befuddled, "what day/time is it?" - my favorite question

* to the many birthday celebrants esp to the one in a galaxy far far away... cenxa lagi belated bati ko.

as i went my shivering, chattering way down adb ave at 7am yesterday, i glanced up at the street thermometer and saw this:

i got all my completed call goals as well, but i just got half of my previews. one step at a time.
