DOING GOOD
Posted at 07:03 PM

I should always remember that growing has to happen between sowing seeds and reaping the harvest.

Wag masyadong apurado...I'm still God's work in progress. And i sure have a lot to learn. Sabi nga sa Monday CG, I'm preparing to be ready...and sometimes, God's no means yes.

Happy naman ang week na ito because of a ton of work and my midweek sabbatical. i like feeling needed.

Happy weekend!

SIMPLENG LIGAYA
Posted at 09:35 AM

I was inspired by http://minigirl.livejournal.com/. Here's to life's simple pleasures:

 1. waking on a cold, rainy morning... and realize there's no work 'cause its a holiday/weekend/storm signal #4.

2. curling up with a good, hard-to-put down book that i would like to read more than once

3. coffee. the aromatic strong, brewed, steel-solvent kind

4. bonding / jamming time with them

5. answered prayers =)

Gawin niyo rin ito, nawala ang blah feeling ko... give thanks for the small blessings!

AKO AY PILIPINO!
Posted at 10:26 AM

THERE'S a booklet making the rounds in Metro Manila that every Filipino who loves his country should get hold of and read, and hopefully put the points it raises into practice, in order to help our nation...

"Twelve (12) Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country,"
by Alexander Ledesma Lacson, may be a "voice in the wilderness"; but as Fr. Ruben Tanseco, S.J. puts it, what Alex proposes are "very concrete, practical and doable" actions for us ordinary Filipinos.

A simple enumeration of these "twelve little things" will not do justice to the work of Alex. You've got to read the whole text, but I shall try to compress a few lines for some of the items mentioned.

1. Follow traffic rules -- Why is that the most important? The answer is simple. Traffic rules are the simplest of our laws. If we learn to follow them, it will be the lowest form of national discipline that we can develop. Since it is totally without monetary cost, it should be easy for us to comply with, and therefore should provide a good start.

2. Whenever you buy or pay for anything, always ask for an official receipt. -- If a seller does not issue an official receipt when you buy a product, the seller may or may not remit the tax to the government. Without an O.R., there is no record of the sale transaction, and the tax that you paid may not be remitted to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

3. Do not buy smuggled goods. Buy local, buy Filipino. -- It may not be good economics to buy 100 percent local products. What I suggest is for us to take a "50-50" buying attitude. This means that we must develop the attitude of using 50 percent of our budget for local products and the other 50 percent for imported choices.

4. When you talk to others, especially foreigners, speak positively of our race and our country -- this is best addressedto the rich and the middle class in our country, who have contact with the outside world. It is they who talk to, dine or deal with foreigners either here or abroad. It is what they say and do which creates impressions about us among foreigners.

5. Respect your traffic officer, policeman, soldier and other public servants -- There is nothing like the power of respect. It makes a person proud. It makes one feel honorable. At the same time, courtesy to others is good manners. It is class and elegance and kindness. It is seeing the value and dignity in the other man. It is, in fact, a mark of a most profound education.

6. Do not litter. Dispose your garbage properly. Segregate. Recycle.Conserve. -- As Louis Armstrong says in his song: "I see trees of green, red roses, too, I see them bloom for me and you and I think to myself, what a wonderful world."

7. Support your church. (or charitable/ civic organizations -

8. During elections, do your solemn duty. -- Honesty, more than a masteral or doctorate degree, is what gives credibility. And credibility is essential because it is a leader's link to the people. It is what makes the people look to one direction, follow a common vision, and perform a uniform act. In short, credibility is what makes people follow the leader.

9. Pay your employees well. -- No exercise is better for the human heart than to reach down and lift someone else up. This truly defines a successful life. For success is the sum, not of our earthly possessions, but of how many times we have shown love and kindness to others.

10. Pay your taxes. -- In 2003, P83 billion was collected from individual income taxes. But 91 percent of this amount came from salaried workers from the government and private sector, people who had no choice since their income taxes were withheld mandatorily. Only P7 billion of the P83 billion came from businessmen and professionals like doctors, lawyers, accountants and architects, among others.

11. Adopt a scholar or adopt a poor child. -- You can make a difference in the future of our country by making a difference in the world of children.

12. Be a good parent. Teach your kids to follow the law and to love our country. -- Today's children will someday rule and lead this world. But whether they will be bad rulers or good leaders will depend largely on how we raise them today. Our future is in the hearts and minds of our children

NAMISS KO ANG BANQUET NIGHT...
Posted at 05:55 PM

AWIT PARA KAY CLAIRE

Araw ko'y papanglaw (My day would be sad)
Kung di ka matatanaw (If I can't see you)
Kahit saglit man lang (Even for just a short while)
Ika'y masilayan (I need to see your face)

Sayo nga'y maghihintay (I will wait for you)
Sa pag-ibig mo hihimlay (In your love I will rest)
Diyos ang siyang pinagmulan ng ating pagmamahalan (Our love came from God)

Kahit pa magtatagal (Even if it takes a long time)
Ako'y maghihintay (I will wait)
Kahit ulitin pang muli ang panahon na nagdaan (Even if time has to be repeated all over again)
Hindi ako mapapagal (I won't get tired)
Hindi malulumbay (I won't get lonely)
Aking tutunghayan ang bawat oras ma'y (I will attend to every hour)
Alam ng Maykapal (Even God knows that)

Puso'y wag mangamba (Don't let your heart worry)
Pagka't wala na ngang iba (Because there is no one else for me)
Mata ko'y nakatali na (My eyes are fixed)
Sayo lamang sinta (Only to you my love)

At nais kong malaman mo (And I want you to know)
Hindi ako mahihiyang (I won't be ashamed)
Ipagsisigawan sa mundo (I will shout to the whole world)
Mahal na mahal kita (I love you very much)

*kuya jun at kuya bryan: you're da best! thanks for the harana and male. happy single awareness day! =)

ako sa pagmamahal kahapon...

...Niya

Posted at 10:31 AM

Posted at 05:02 PM

Di ko man maamin
Ikaw ay mahalaga sa akin
Di ko man maisip
Sa pagtulog ikaw ang panaginip
Malabo man ang aking pag-iisip
Sana'y pakinggan mo ang sigaw nitong damdamin

Ako'y alipin mo kahit hindi batid
Aaminin ko minsan ako'y manhid
Sana ay iyong naririnig
Sa 'yong yakap ako'y nasasabik

Ayoko sa iba
Sa 'yo ako ay hindi magsasawa
Ano man ang 'yong sabihin
Umasa ka ito ay diringgin
Madalas man na parang aso at pusa
Giliw sa piling mo ako ay masaya

Ako'y alipin mo kahit hindi batid
Aaminin ko minsan ako'y manhid
Sana ay iyong naririnig
Sa 'yong yakap ako'y nasasabik

Pilit mang abutin ang mga tala
Basta't sa akin 'wag kang mawawala

Ako'y alipin mo kahit hindi batid
Aaminin ko minsan ako'y manhid
Sana ay iyong naririnig
Sa 'yong yakap ako'y nasasabik

Pagkat ikaw lang ang nais makatabi
Kung malamig man o mainit ang gabi
Nais ko sana iparating
Na ikaw lamang ang siyang aking iibigin

My quarterly quota for illnesses was consumed this weekend. First I got backache and muscle pain from hauling bricks for a housebuild. Then came the slight fever from too much sun exposure. Then my poor stomach acted up. i am now officially hyperacidic. goodbye spicy food. goodbye softdrinks. goodbye coffee...

goodbye coffee? waah. nooooOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

SIMPLY AMAZING
Posted at 06:04 PM

I work for a telecom firm but have only a vague notion of technology. For the life of me I can't operate gadgets without mayhem as a result. and i tended to view tech with suspicion. none of the latest gizmos for me, my trusty cp is still functioning, thank you.

but after receiving a 3G video call with my officemates from our colleagues in Leyte, i can appreciate how invaluable it is. they're over there to help out in the relief efforts for the landslide victims. we could see their smiling faces, the crowd waiting to avail of libreng tawag, several American soldiers and a lot of kids waving at us from hundreds of kms away.

the wonders of technology indeed.

UNTI-UNTI
Posted at 09:56 AM

I've been feeling under the weather for the past few days because of minor body aches that came in rapid succession. But i had to go to work since my bosses are out of town and someone needs to be the "taumbahay." Instead of looking sick though, the receptionist said I looked sad. Weird din.

I'm slowly realizing that most of my complaints are not due to stress but were mostly caused by anxiety. Embarassing admission, but true.

Good news:  my various body parts have stopped sending pain signals, i think my appetite is coming back (imagine eating just a half cup of rice for one day), and my body is getting over its caffeine withdrawal. at last.

God is teaching me that worrying is bad, bad, bad.

I'm learning..bit by bit

ALL FOR LOVE
Posted at 08:32 PM

All for love the Father gave
For only love could make a way
All for love the heavens cried
For love was crucified

Oh how many times have I broken Your heart
But still You forgive if only I ask
And how many times have You heard me pray
Draw near to me

Everything I need is You
My beginning, my forever
Everything I need is You

Let me sing all for love
I will join the angels’ song
Ever holy is the Lord
King of Glory, King of all

All for a love a Savior prayed
Abba Father, have Your way
Though they know not what they do
Let the Cross draw man to You
