NOVEMBER NA!!!
Posted at 01:03 AM

It’s been a long time since my last blog entry. So what has happened? These past looong weekends were my first holidays as a professional.

WEEKEND 1:

4 days spent in the car cemetery-hopping from Laguna-Cavite-Bulacan-Tarlac. The hours of travel gave me ample time to sleep and memorize our cantata alto practice track. Though it did cross my mind, why didn’t my relatives think of getting buried in the same place? Or at least in the same province? Oh well. Ate my fill of fried chicken because my cousins clamored for it. Bird flu….waaah… Also spent Oct 31-Nov 1 at the cemetery. Stargazed and devoured 3 books. Enjoyed the peace and quiet, although I did get a nasty cough as a souveneir. And lots of food for thought… had a mini-SR while reading and praying. Here’s another, nicer souveneir:

God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him. – John Piper, Desiring God

WEEKDAYS:

Work. And babysitting my brother… we brought him to the office because his yaya left suddenly. He’s 15, autisic, and a blessing. Good-looking of course, ate niya ako eh. No Jrev, no LCDC. Ok lang, tanggap ko na.

WEEKEND 2:

Household chores kasi nga wala kaming kasama ngayon. Enjoyed hours of laundry and wash-up but a half hour of sweeping reduced me to allergy-induced tears. Blessing! My cousin’s cousin came to take care of my brother… so I was allowed to go out. I’m now at the apartment of my college theater group, aka the unit. Enjoying free internet and a liter of coke and delicious food and laughing out loud and talking and talking and talking. Overnight for our director’s birthday party, so sleeping has just become optional. Tomorrow, or should I say later, off to church early. Tagalog service kasi eh.

And…to quote one of my kids “a drastic change has happened.”

BANGLOS
Posted at 10:53 AM

Spent last week organizing an exhibit for the Banglos Sculptors. They are the featured exhibitors at Furniture Expo, SM Megamall Megatrade Hall November 11-20. Free admission, check it out!

Read today's issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer (frontpage) and the Philippine Star...andun sila! Hopefully, lalabas yung interview nila sa 24 oras tonight.

Masayang gumawa ng may kabuluhan. Masaya din mag-behind the scenes.

And again, thanks to the nth power to the p&w team...who made the pambubulabog of the vesper service via a rendition of "my redeemer lives" possible.

DEEP THINKER
Posted at 05:18 PM

Definitely not me.

During an impromptu UHC date last night, she asked if i ever think of things (or something to that effect). And I answered an instant no... I'm more of a doer. My impulsiveness and lack of forethought has caused me more grief than can be fitted in this blog entry.

Then again, just doing things have brought me a lot of blessings as well. Sometimes one just have to grab the moment, seize the day, haul opportunity into the door before it stops knocking.

Sometimes, you don't have to know the why's and wherefores before you obey what's right. When you've done what He wants you to do, then the next step becomes clear.

But I do miss having one great, grandiose, burning, all-consuming passion. That is, a practical, SPECIFIC life goal. My vision is still indistinct.

Ei...is this deep thinking?

AS USUAL
Posted at 11:38 AM

Ako'y bangag, windang, etc.

an average of 4 hours of sleep each night for 3 days does that to a person. kelan kaya ako makakapagrecharge?

okay lang, sulit naman sa bonding...

the svcfsemstarter and ivcfday. sobra kong namiss ang mga pretty, unreachable, four-eyed ladies of esbi manila (ida, che, abi) at ang iba ko pang mga anak. yup, they are my original kids, the first who attempted to call me "nay" and survived to tell the tale. nakakabless maging ate sa ganitong ka-dedicated na mga campus missionaries. svcf in action talaga... at kahit 4 lang kaming kc2k3 sa iv day, sulit pa rin. sana magkareunion ulit...riz?

Labo.

OO NGA NAMAN
Posted at 09:18 AM

Too Much Romantic Passion - Ed Lapiz

Too much romantic emotion. Kailangan wag munang ihuhulog ang loob agad - agad no? Huwag agad - agad. Huwag masyadong emosyonal. Tingnan mo. I fast forward mo. Two years later, isang losyang na losyang na unwed mother. O, ang ganda-ganda nya. Dati parang ubas. Ang saya-saya dahil in love. Mamaya naman walang kakibu kibo. May family reunion, ayaw maki join. Nag-aatend ng church service, walang kakibu-kibo. Paano hindi pa siya tine-text. Naging sobrang dependent na on other people for happiness.

Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, adn to live self controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.

So, yang ganyang mga emotions, bagamat healthy na andyan yan, are under checked. Especially, if you are very young. Huwag masyadong ihulog ang inyong loob. Magtira kayo sa sarili.

Titus 3:3 At one time, we too, were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures.

Pero ang sinasabi dito past tense na. At one time, we, too, were foolish. One time, we, too, were foolish but not anymore. Why not?
